Logan Belle/Logan's Run/The Fabulous Camel Toes/Logan and Yvonne: News
Meta-cocoon stages - March 30, 2008
After a self imposed transitional stage, we've been working on material for a new album. I've already posted a raw track from the as yet untitled project...with more to come. Check it out in the Music tab. Some exciting things are afoot.
The past few days - August 13, 2007
It's been a blur. The Camel Toes played last Thursday at Oasis and Yvonne and I played at Tijuana Flats in Winter Springs. All I can say is that it's hot outside and for Vonny and I wised up and bought a fan for the Flats gig. It saved us...that billowing breeze was just right as we went about the nights festivities. On Saturday night, both the Benton and Ridgeway families came out to join us. Max and Mitch have finally settled on a name for thier group. Orlantic Vibes debuted at the Flats playing some Smashing Pumpkins, Chilli Peppers and Matisyahu along with me and Vonny doing White Rabbit and Smells Like Teen Spirit, it was a hoot and a holler for one and all.

Muggy Days and Tijuana Nights - June 23, 2007
The weather co-operated with Vonny and me at Tijuana Flats this weekend. Although the humidity was a bear as we and on Friday night. It almost seemed as if rain would be welcome, but no drops fell. I was able to play my new Breedlove Acoustic Guitar and it sounded heavenly. Not many people sang along, but I could see a few toes tapping. We were joined by Mikey, Devo, Gail, Lindsey and Lori this weekend and we hope that a few new people will be joining the ranks of the Llama Brigade soon.
MEISA jar jar binks - June 18, 2007
OK, I may not be Jar-Jar, but the Media Entertainment Industry Student association held thier 1st annual Faculty Talent Showcase last night and yours truly walked away with first place. I got out there and did three solo acoustic songs (Until Now, Weather Vane and Burning Bush). The audience and the judges liked it. I don't usually toot my own horn, but I just wanted to keep you informed (I don't even know who's reading this stuff). Pics will be coming soon.
Connections - June 5, 2007
The current issue of "Connections" ran a review of Candletime. 4 out of 5. The full review will be found in the "Press/Reviews" section of the site.
Amura-tastic - June 3, 2007
I did a couple of last minute gigs at Amura's in Lake Mary this past weekend. The Friday night gig was all right, but it didn't sound as good as I'm used to. Some people may not have noticed, but I did. The next night was sounding much better and the people were pleased. Devo came out to say "hi" on Friday and on Saturday, my neighbor, Traci, was celebrating her birthday with a few friends. The saki was flowing and the mood was spirited as a few people even danced to some of the tunes. I started mixing it up with more originals tossed into the mix and the audience seemed to dig it. Yvonne came up and sang "Voices Carry" as all the sushi chefs stopped thier chopping and lent an ear to the beautiful Ms. Vonny. They were blown away. (she rocks...I know). definetly a fun place to play.
Mix and Match - May 27, 2007
So that's the name I've given to our young protogees (Max and Mitch) as they came out and put on a great show with thier brand new instruments. Both are extremly talented players and are getting better all the time. You know they're special when they bust out great versions of G. Love and Special Sauce tunes, a few RHCP and Tenacious D. I joined them for a version of Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood" and Yvonne stepped up for "No Rain". It was a lot of fun and everyone in attendence enjoyed the show...head over to the gigs and fans section of the pics to see what you missed.
Entitlement - May 26, 2007
At Tijuana Flats last night we ran into some interesting individuals. They kept asking for truly deep album cuts and obscure songs. To be honest, they bothered me a little. It appeared that they were members of an excusive club that feel as if the world is their oyster. I assumed they were wealthy and a simple two dollar tip would ensure that some of the stuff they asked for would get played, but alas...no such luck (untill about 15minutes before packing it in)
Toes sighting - May 18, 2007
The Fabulous Camel Toes made a return trip to Sorrento this past Thursday for a night that was a bit slow, but nonetheless filled with merriment. Jeff's non-stop one-liners had Buck, the mascot in stitches (not that it would help) and Dolly gave away some clothes and spankings! As always, Butch, Reed and myself delivered a raucous night of fun with some new songs in the mix (Bad to the Bone and Low Rider) along with the faves. See you soon.
A-More-Ahs - May 12, 2007
after the sun went down, things cooled off as I brought the acoustic jams to Lake Mary. Although the competition with the Sax/band-in-a-box was fierce at times, the dulcet tones of my Carlos Robelli filled the air for all those in attendance. It was good to see some faces that have been absent for awhile (Jack and Silena) and familiar (Mikey and Gail). My wife sat this one out as she chowed down on some Grrreat fried rice and sushi (not to mention some choice saki). All in all a tasteful evening with some tasteful tunes.
Cinco De Mayo - May 6, 2007
What a great day and a great show at Tijuana Flats! It started off with threatening clouds, but Simon (one of our trusty Full Sail Techs) talked to the sky and asked it not to rain. The sky listened and we were treated to a wonderful, breezy night. The air was brimming with merriment as we took the stage, launced into our first songs and promptly lost power...if only for a minute or two. We weren't going to let a little thing like electricity get in our way. After we got things going, the crowd bolstered us along with cheers and applause. Karen sat in with us on drums and did an awesome job. One of the many highlights was having Mitch and Max join us on stage for a blistering rendition of "Dani California" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" They rocked the house. all in attendance had a great time. Our neighbors, Mike, Traci and Dion showed up with their kids. Also Devon and Patti as well as Mikey, Squirrel, Chopper, Rafael, Gail and a bunch of others. Thanks for supporting us and we'll see you soon.
Muldoons rocked! - April 23, 2007
This past weekend was a blast at Muldoons with the wonderful Karen Toledo sitting in on the drums. We debuted some new songs that went over quite well, but the hit of the weekend was defietly Mrs. Yvonne Belle who stunned the crowd of both nights with her kazoo and harmonica prowess...not to mention some sexy outfits and dance moves. No one left dissappointed and seeing some familiar faces is always a plus. We can't wait for the next time!
Tijuana dance under the moonlight - April 1, 2007
OK so maybe there wasn't much dancing this past weekend, but we did have some friends drop by to say "hi" and chow down on some great food. Chris, Erin, Russ, Laurie, Patty and crew all helped make this weekend a fun time. We were a bit concerened about the weather on Friday. Small sprinkles and threatening clouds made it a touch and go affair, but the rain stayed away and we continued to play for all those who braved it. Saturday was nicer. We'll be sitting in for Wendy Benson this Saturday, so if you missed it, we'll catch you there.
Goin' up the country... - March 23, 2007
The Fabulous Camel Toes returned to The Oasis with better result. The crowd was fun and on top of the game, even if it wasn't a "packed" house. We let loose with a few gems that we don't normally play like "Stranglehold", "Dazed and Confused" and "Cocaine". That was a blast. Nothing like flying by the seat of your pants to keep you on your musical toes (pun intended).
Sorren-Toes rock - March 11, 2007
After the gigs this weekend at The Oasis, it would be suprising if the Fabulous Camel Toes weren't asked back. We brought the jams and on friday night, the crowd brought the fun. Reed, Butch and I seemed to be a bit detached early on, but seemed to gel quickly enough. Some patrons, however, just don't know when to sit down and enjoy the show. I'm not naming anyone in particular, but let's just say it got annoying after the first hour or so. We remembered the time change, so by the time we got home it was rolling onto 4am. So here I am bright and early (at 1pm) working at the school. It's going to be a long day!
Dip your Toes in the Jam - March 1, 2007
The Fabulous Camel Toes returned to Muldoons last night to host thier nearly world famous Jam Night. We had to shake off some of the rust as we got into the swing of things. We hadn't played together in awhile but the magic was still there. I had to remember how to play a few of our standards and tried to get my voice back into gear. We ripped through a high energy set before calling up the first jammers. The band Gallow's Fate started things off with a few goth/metal tunes which were well recieved. Some regulars showed up and played with us as well. Bill T., David (from Stellar Junction), Dennis (from Bad Manners/Sidewinder), Dave Bennage (from Kid Ridlyn), and Diane (from the back barstool) all put thier stamp on the evening. The Fabulous Camel Toes are going to be at Oasis next week, so I gues we'd better get our act together...woo hoo!
Peace,
Logan
A hot time... - February 24, 2007
in the city! Well, maybe not that hot. Although we did have a good time last night. Yvonne and I did the rounds at Tijuana Flats and were joined by our young protogee's Max and Mitch. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so the two boys performed an entire set of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Matisyahu, Green Day, Sublime and others. Yvonne got up and sang some Nirvana with them and the debut of Thomas (an up and coming guitarist) was well recieved. The air was cool, but the heaters kept us nice and toasty as the wine flowed in celebration of Ellen Benton's birthday. All in all a fun night.
Cold Moon Beach - February 17, 2007
The Full Moon Saloon was anything but "full". It's Speed Week in Daytona and we thought there would be more people out. It turns out that the weather may have kept some people home. Plus we didn't promote it too well in that area. Anyway, Dale wasn't drumming with us so we did the acoustic type thing. I dunno, I just enjoy playing the originals. It doesn't matter who's there. I think it shows when you do what you love and that was what we were doing. We got a kick out of pulling out a few songs that we haven't done in awhile like "Seems Like Yesterday", and "I'll Stay". I don't know when we'll be back, but at least I can say it was good for me...in more ways than one.
Peace,
Logan
